2019 – 2022

MA house is located in the suburbs of Athens. The project is composed of two overlapping volumes with different functions and was designed to be harmonious and functional, placed carefully favouring the solar orientation, natural lighting and ventilation, taking advantage of the area’s climate context. The ground floor is designed as the base which supports a white rectangular prism that rests on top of it.

The base is shaped through thick walls covered by local stone cladding and houses the more social areas; the living room, the dining area and kitchen which all are in direct contact with the garden and pool area.

The upper volume, that houses the bedrooms, projects out on both sides of the ground floor. The master suite and two more bedrooms face towards the east, overlooking the pool, and one other bedroom faces the front of the lot, all connected to balconies.

On the west side, the cantilevers shelter the main entrance, and on the east, it creates a transitional shaded space that acts as an extension of the living room.
