Town Hall
Agia Paraskevi

2001, 2005-2015

Complete study of National competition 1st Place

This building seeks to explore the relationship between the public and the private sphere: it functions both as a utilitarian space and as a passageway.

As a result of the diagonal positioning of the main axis, the front predominantly faces the main square of Aghia Paraskevi, while the outdoor space is divided in two correlating courtyards: a northern one, open to the city and serving as an entrance, and a southern one, on the inner side, that leads to an open-air theatre and connects with the adjacent open air space, complementing its square shape.

The two courtyards communicate via a pilotis, creating a continuous path, from which the city council hall and the multi-purpose room emerge.
